Traitement des données[edit]

L'idée est de représenter les données publiées dans la littérature scientifique sans préférence ou parti pris, notamment sur la question de savoir si elles représentent de manière fidèle les fluctuations de température. Cependant, puisque les données présentées dans ce graphique forment une part significative des données publiées, on peut s'attendre à ce qu'elles jouent un role important dans les discussions en cours sur le changement climatique et le réchauffement mondial.

Pour chaque set de données, une moyenne glissante sur dix ans des données brutes a été réalisée avec une pondération gaussienne de largeur σ = 5 ans. On a également translaté les données de manière à ce que sa moyenne concorde avec la moyenne des données enregistrées (données noires) sur la période de recouvrement. La variance n'a pas été modifiée (à part dans un cas, comme mentionné).

Sauf exception indiquée, les données viennent de la page [3] et des liens qu'on peut y trouver. Enfin, la plupart des publications sur les reconstructions du climat passé mentionnent des barres d'erreur substantielles, qui ne sont pas représentées sur cette figure.
