Description

A rendering of the w:2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey data.

  • This was created using the Intrepix AstroVis software created as part of a university project.
  • The data set used is the "best spectroscopic observations" in ASCII format.
  • 30% of the sources (galaxies) were chosen at random from the data set to be rendered for this image.
  • Fluctuations in density in various parts of the universe are clearly visible from this image.
